Jared G Keenan Related Seminars and Products
Jared Keenan is the Executive Director and Chief Litigation Counsel at Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest. He previously served as Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona where he oversaw the ACLU of Arizona’s litigation docket focusing on criminal legal reform, LGBTQ+ equality, immigrants’ rights, voting rights, and protecting the rights enshrined in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Jared litigates in both state and federal court, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. After graduating from Boston University School of Law, Jared worked as a public defender in Boston, Massachusetts and in Mohave and Yavapai counties in Arizona before joining the ACLU of Arizona. As a public defender, Jared represented individuals charged with serious felony offenses, including capital murder. He also represented criminal defendants on appeal and through Special Actions, arguing several times before the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court. Jared often speaks at state and national conferences on important civil rights and civil liberties issues and recently published “Beyond Bordenkircher's Boundaries: Challenging Coercive Plea Bargaining in the Maricopa County Early Disposition Court System” in the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law. He is also a Past-President of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice (AACJ).
Grace Marie Guisewite Related Seminars and Products
Grace Guisewite is an attorney supervisor and capital appeals attorney with the Maricopa County Office of the Legal Advocate. After graduating from Boston University School of Law, Grace worked as an associate for Dechert LLP, where she primarily practiced white collar and securities litigation. In 2012, Grace joined the Yavapai County Public Defender’s Office, where she represented clients charged with serious felony offenses. In 2019, Grace joined the appellate division of the Maricopa County Office of the Legal Advocate. She has successfully argued several times before the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court, including in R.S. v. Hon. Thompson (Vanders), 251 Ariz. 111 (2021), which clarified criminal defendants’ due process rights to pretrial discovery from victims. Grace served as the president of the Yavapai County Bar Association in 2017. The Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice awarded her the William Rothstein Achievement Award in 2018, and a Presidential Commendation in 2024. Grace currently serves on AACJ’s Amicus Committee. She has been a guest lecturer at the Boston University School of Law and the Levin College of Law (University of Florida Law).
