Judge Ronee Korbin Steiner, appointed to the Maricopa County Superior Court Bench in 2015, served in the Family Department, where she was the Associate Presiding Judge, and the Criminal Department from 2019 to 2023. She is now in the juvenile department. She has served on the following executive boards: Arizona chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Maricopa County Bar Association Family Law Section and Public Lawyers Division. She also served as Co-Chair for the Family Law Initiatives Committee and for the Behavioral Health Committee, and co-chair of the Criminal law Section Executive Board for MCBA. She is currently on the Executive Board for MCBA. She also served on the Maricopa County Jury Advisory Committee. Most recently, she served on the subcommittee that created the Spousal Maintenance Guidelines for the Supreme Court. In the criminal department, Judge Korbin Steiner was instrumental in assisting the courts throughout the state with establishing procedures and best practices for the Lifetime Injunctions statute recently passed. Judge Korbin Steiner graduated Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude with Honors in the Liberal Arts, from the Ohio State University and then from Temple University School of Law in 1993. After a judicial clerkship in Philadelphia, she practiced as a Maricopa County Public Defender. She then went into private practice where she focused on family law. Before her appointment to the bench, Judge Korbin Steiner was an Arizona Bar Certified Specialist in Family Law. She was a parenting coordinator, provided mediation services and was a Maricopa County judge pro tem. She has taught many CLEs for the State Bar, MCBA, the Paralegal Institute, NBI and others. As a family law practitioner, Judge Korbin Steiner was awarded Family Law Litigator of the Year by Volunteer Lawyers Program and was named one of Arizona’s Top 50 Pro Bono Lawyers. She was also a volunteer attorney for the Sandra Day O’Connor House. She has provided legal assistance through Fresh Start, Chrysalis and other pro bono programs.
