This CLE will provide you with an overview of business valuation basics that all practitioners should know or brush up on, a look at more complex business valuation concepts, and an in-depth look at challenging business valuations and how to prepare to litigate them.

Jennifer Gadow is a partner at FROMM SMITH & GADOW, P.C. where her practice focuses exclusively on complex family law litigation and mediation. Ms. Gadow has been a Certified Specialist in Family Law since 2002. She has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) since 2014. She has been named the Volunteer Guardian Ad Litem of the Year and served as a volunteer settlement officer for the Superior Court of Arizona for nearly fifteen years. She currently serves as a Parenting Coordinator.

Admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 1995, Ms. Gadow received her B.A. in English from the University of California at Berkeley in 1991 and her law degree from the University of Denver in 1994. She has been a program chair and frequent presenter at seminars educating both new and seasoned family law attorneys throughout Arizona. Her expertise has been utilized to update family law legislation and she currently serves on several committees within the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is on the Arizona Family Law Executive Counsel.

Ms. Gadow has a passion for family law and has worked in that field exclusively since becoming an attorney. She is the mother of two teen children and she enjoys traveling, hiking tall mountains and trail running.

Kaytlyn (Kayt) Yrun-Duffy is a Partner at Hinderaker & Yrun-Duffy Family law. She has been practicing family law since 2013, is a Certified Family Law Specialist with the Arizona State Bar and is a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Her practice emphasis is in complex financial matters, including business valuations, tracings, commercial property valuation, stock option and restricted stock unit valuations, retirement valuations, and reimbursement calculations. She is also the Vice Chair of the Family Law Executive Counsel.

Julia Miessner is a Principal and Practice Leader for the Financial Forensics and Valuation Services Group of BeachFleischman PLLC. She has over 25 years of public accounting experience with a diverse background in audit, accounting, tax, forensic accounting, valuation and expert witness services. Since 2002, Julia has specialized in forensic accounting and litigation consulting services. Julia has authored numerous reports and provided testimony as an expert witness in connection with various civil litigation cases involving marital dissolution, probate and trust accounting issues, lost profits and economic damages, and business valuation. She has served as a court appointed expert and performed work as a private mediator in marital dissolution matters.
