On January 1, 2024 a new federal reporting requirement went into effect that requires millions of non-exempt companies (mostly small businesses) to file a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report with the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).   This webinar will look at the issues facing attorneys during the first three weeks of the effective date.  
 
Be prepared to work with your clients on their responsibilities, options, exemptions, defenses, etc.

Brandon J. Kavanagh is a practicing attorney as a Partner/Member of Mangum, Wall, Stoops & Warden, PLLC. He was admitted to practice law in Arizona in 1999, having been admitted to practice law in Maryland in 1997. After growing up in Flagstaff, Brandon earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University with honors in 1994. He earned his law degree from George Washington University School of Law in 1997. He worked with the firm from 1999-2005 before moving to Phoenix to work with Gust Rosenfeld PLC as an associate and then as a Partner. In July 2010, he returned to the firm as a Partner to raise his family where he was born and raised. He has over twenty five years of experience in business law, real estate, and public law. Brandon was the Chair of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona for 2008-2009 and is currently a Member at Large of the Business Law Section Executive Committee. He is involved with multiple non-profit entities as a Board member (Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona Leadership Alliance) as well as representing many different non-profit and governmental entities throughout Northern Arizona. He taught Non-Profit Governance in the W.A. Franke College of Business as an Adjunct Professor from 2018-2021.

is a partner with the Tucson law firm Nystedt & Fletcher, PLLC. Gary is both an Attorney and CPA and has practiced law in Tucson for 32 years. Gary is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). His practice is focused on estate, gift, and income taxation, with a concentration in estate planning, tax, trust formation and administration, charitable gift planning, complex business transactions and trust, probate, and select commercial litigation, including mediation, alternative dispute resolution and representation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Gary received both his undergraduate (BSBA, with High Distinction, Accounting, 1985) and graduate (JD, Cum Laude, 1989) degrees from the University of Arizona, where he was published member of the Arizona Law Review and subsequently served as a Note and Comment Editor on the Editorial Board. He served as a legislative intern for the Arizona House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee between undergrad and law school (Spring, 1986). Gary has served on the Board of Directors of Casa de los Ninos for the past 15 years and served as President of the Casa de los Ninos Foundation from 2008 to 2015. Gary was a member the Arizona State Bar Probate and Trust Executive Council from 2013 through 2019, where he served as Treasurer and was active on the Council's subcommittee advocating for Probate and Trust Section concerns regarding the legislation recently enacted as the Arizona Limited Liability Company Act.
