Description

Managing a trust account might feel daunting, but in this seminar, we will help you be able to do it with confidence. We will cover the rules that apply to trust accounting and what systems to use in order to ethically run your practice. This seminar will explore the rules of managing a trust account, including how to make deposits, disbursements, keep records, do a three-way reconciliation, and accept credit cards. Lawyers with a trust account, along with his/her staff, should attend this seminar.

Meredith Vivona is the Practice Management Attorney for Practice 2.0, the State Bar’s confidential practice management and trust account advice program. Before joining the State Bar of Arizona as Practice Management Attorney, Meredith served as Independent Bar Counsel, investigating and prosecuting misconduct allegations brought against attorneys, when the Lawyer Regulation Office had a conflict. Part of Meredith’s responsibilities included serving as Acting Disciplinary Counsel for the Commission on Judicial Conduct where she investigated and resolved judicial misconduct complaints.

Before serving as IBC, Meredith worked in private practice in Phoenix for ten years. Her practice included advising and advocating on behalf of individuals in civil litigation matters throughout the state. Meredith received her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest Law School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
