Description

The practice of law is evolving rapidly. Changes in technology, firms (and other associations), and legal-service providers are sparking innovation and opportunities, in addition to uncertainty. Traditional approaches to the practice of law and ethical regulation cannot fully keep pace with these changes. This program, which will provide a year's worth of ethics credit, offers key insights on how to run and maintain a cutting-edge practice, ethically and effectively, in a changing profession.
Attendees will learn:

  • New ethical rules and expectations impacting conflicts of interest, technology, new associations with other lawyers and non-lawyers (such as Legal Paraprofessionals and Alternative Business Structures), COVID-19 and virtual practice, among other topics;
  • How to use online/internet tools to market legal services and to target potential clients ethically;
  • How to work with the media and social media to market, advertise, and develop professional relationships without violating the ethical rules.
