's practice concentrates in the areas of liquor law and commercial litigation. For over 25 years, Schelstraete has been a sole practitioner representing clients ranging from Fortune 100 Companies to Mom and Pop operations in compliance actions, administrative hearings, special actions (both discretionary and nondiscretionary) and Appeals at all levels, forfeiture and seizure of liquor licenses, assists in the buying or selling of liquor licensed businesses and liquor licenses. For fifteen years, he wrote a monthly column entitled the "Legal Corner", in the Arizona Beverage Analyst, a trade magazine for the Arizona Liquor Industry. He is originally from Chicago, Illinois, was a licensed CPA in that state and a graduate of Arizona State University Law School in 1989. He has two published Arizona Court of Appeal decisions, both favorable to the Arizona liquor industry; (Determining the standard for obtaining stays pending an administrative decision on appeal) and (Determining the statutory disclosure requirement for non-parties at fault).
