After a brief overview of the bankruptcy process, Alex Winkelman will dive into more specific construction–related topics, including:

  • application of the automatic stay to construction projects,
  • doing business with bankrupt entities,
  • lien rights in Bankruptcy,
  • preference actions and the ordinary course defense, and
  • filing and prosecuting claims.

(Bern) primarily practices construction and general appeals with Mesch Clark Rothschild in Tucson, where he has been since 2018. Bern clerked with the Honorable Peter J. Eckerstrom of the Arizona Court of Appeals after graduating from the University of Arizona. In his free time, Bern competes around the Southwest with the Bicycle Ranch Tucson Race Team.
