Sarah Rachel Kostick
, is the Chief Assistant Public Defender for Pima County. She joined the Pima County Public Defender’s Office in late 2014 and has handled all levels of felony matters, including capital cases, as well as Sexually Violent Person commitment proceedings. Sarah regularly lectures and teaches continuing legal education programming around the state of Arizona, and provides pro bono consultation on various criminal defense matters, with an emphasis on the representation of seriously mentally ill individuals, development of sentencing mitigation, and the representation of youthful offenders. Sarah is also a part-time adjunct professor at the University of Arizona, Rogers College of Law, where she has taught and directed the Criminal Defense Clinic since 2017. Originally from Berkeley, CA, Sarah holds a BA from Smith College (2005) and a JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (2010). She enjoys yoga, cooking, reading, and travel in her spare time.
