NED CREIGHTON, publisher and editor of the Arizona News Service, was born in Phoenix in 1941, attended Verde Valley School in Sedona and graduated from Stanford University in 1963. He worked at daily newspapers in Arizona and the Bay Area for three years before returning to Phoenix in 1966 to work for, and in 1975 take over, the Arizona News Service, a family business founded in 1906 that covers state government and politics in great detail. The service today includes a weekly newspaper, the Arizona Capitol Times, the daily printed Arizona Legislative Report, the summer/fall Yellow Sheet Report, and the year-round on-line bill-tracking, lobbyist and candidate listing service LOLA (Legislation On Line Arizona) in addition to several specialty publications.
