Nancy Abell

Nancy Abell is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP, where she chairs the firm’s 162-lawyer Employment Law Department. Ms. Abell works with private and public employers in all aspects of employment law, including wrongful discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, whistle blower, and labor-management litigation. She is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and is named in The Best Lawyers in America. The past Chair of the Board of Governors of the Institute for Corporate Counsel and past Management Co-Chair of the Trial Advocacy Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section Committee on Employee Rights and Responsibilities, Ms. Abell is the author of An Employer's Guide for Preparing Affirmative Action Programs, co-author of An Employer's Guide to the Americans with Disabilities Act, and author of the “Federal Contractor Affirmative Action Compliance” chapter of Employment Discrimination Law. Ms. Abell graduated first in her class from Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges and earned her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, where she is a member of the Order of Coif.
