Melissa Iyer Julian


Honorable Melissa I. Julian, Maricopa County Superior Court, currently serves as the associate civil presiding judge for the civil department and presides over a complex/commercial civil calendar. Judge Julian also serves on the State Bar of Arizona’s Civil Jury Instructions Committee and spends her spare time playing the piano and failing to excel at Pilates. Before her appointment to the bench, she practiced in the areas of business litigation, complex civil litigation, personal injury litigation, and civil appeals with the law firm of Burch & Cracchiolo, P.A. As a private practitioner, Judge Julian tried cases in federal and state courts. As a part of her appellate practice, she briefed cases before the United States Supreme Court and briefed and argued cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Arizona Supreme Court, and both divisions of the Arizona Court of Appeals.
