MARK BOLTON is an associate at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, where he is a member of the firm's Government Relations Group. As an integral part of Brownstein's Government Relations Practice, Mark assists clients in complying with federal and state election laws as well as lobbying regulations. Mark's clients include large and small corporations and trade associations, political action committees, candidates for office, issue advocacy groups, and contributors. Specifically, Mark advises clients on state and federal lobbying registration and reporting requirements, gift rules, workplace political activity, compliance with the regulatory burdens attached to independent campaign advocacy and direct campaign contributions, and ballot measure advocacy. Mark also represents corporations and trade associations on state legislative issues and assists his clients in their interaction with Congress and federal agencies. Mark's work concentrates in the areas of energy, tax, telecommunications, transportation and health care. During Mark's career in government relations, he has effectively represented clients by drafting and ensuring the passage of complex legislation, and by stopping or modifying legislation contrary to clients’ interests. Prior to joining Brownstein, Mark was an associate at Fennemore Craig, in their Phoenix office. Mark also previously served on staff for Congressman Tom Udall and in the Office of Governor Bill Richardson's chief counsel.
