Hon. Lisa Schriner Lewis is a Tucson native and prior to her appointment as a Commissioner in March, 2021, she was a Shareholder in the Tucson law firm of WATERFALL, ECONOMIDIS, CALDWELL, HANSHAW & VILLAMANA, P.C. Lisa received her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Med/Microbiology from Northern Arizona University, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in 2005. Prior to her appointment, Lisa was a certified specialist in family law and had also been appointed by the Court to represent children in difficult family law matters as a best interest attorney, child’s attorney and Court Appointed Advisor. Prior to her appointment, Lisa was a frequent participant in the family law clinics with the Volunteer Lawyers Program and Step Up to Justice and has been honored several times for her pro bono work. Lisa was named as the Outstanding Young Lawyer by the State Bar of Arizona in 2010. She was also named one of the Top Fifty Pro Bono Attorneys in Arizona in 2007, 2011 and 2013 from the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education. Lisa was also named as the Top Pro Bono Attorney in 2008, Top Pro Bono Family Law Attorney in 2007, and Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney of the Month in May of 2006 and November of 2013 by the Volunteer Lawyers Program of Southern Arizona. In her free time, Lisa enjoys taking her children to their numerous extracurricular activities and painting badly.
