Hon. Lisa Schriner Lewis is a Tucson native who was appointed as Commissioner to the Family Law Bench in March of 2021. Prior to her appointment as a Commissioner she was a Shareholder in the Tucson law firm of Waterfall, Economidis, Caldwell, Hanshaw & Villamana, P.C. Judge Lewis received her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Med/Microbiology from Northern Arizona University, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law. Prior to her appointment, she was a certified specialist in family law and had also been appointed by the Court to represent children in difficult family law matters as a best interest attorney, child’s attorney, and Court Appointed Advisor.
Prior to her appointment, Judge Lewis was a frequent participant in the family law clinics with the Volunteer Lawyers Program and Step Up to Justice and has been honored several times for her pro bono work. She was named as the Outstanding Young Lawyer by the State Bar of Arizona in 2010 and named one of the Top Fifty Pro Bono Attorneys in Arizona in 2007, 2011 and 2013 from the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education. Judge Lewis was also named as the Top Pro Bono Attorney in 2008, Top Pro Bono Family Law Attorney in 2007, and Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney of the Month in May of 2006 and November of 2013 by the Volunteer Lawyers Program of Southern Arizona. In her free time, Judge Lewis enjoys reading, taking her children to their numerous extracurricular activities, and watercolor painting.
