Jim Drake

The Honorable Jim Drake was appointed to the Superior Court in Maricopa County on October 1, 2021. He has served on the Family Court bench since his appointment. Prior to appointment, Judge Drake worked in a variety of roles in state government. Most recently, he was the Chief Clerk of the Arizona House of Representatives (2015-2021) where he served on the Mason’s Manual of Legislative Procedure Commission of the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries (ASLCS). Judge Drake previously worked as the Assistant Secretary of State (2009-2015) and the House Rules Attorney (1999-2009). As Rules Counsel, Judge Drake performed constitutional analysis on all measures passing through the legislature. Judge Drake also served on the Arizona Supreme Court’s Committee on Examinations for seven years and on the Attorney Discipline Review Committee.
