Jason T Hauter


Jason Hauter is a partner with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP’s American Indian Law and Policy group. He primarily represents Indian tribes and tribally owned enterprises on a variety of matters, including federal policy, Indian water rights, economic development and environmental regulation. He also advises the Gila River Indian Community on its water settlement implementation, including helping develop its water use plan and water marketing strategy. Since 2016 he has represented the Gila River Indian Community in Colorado River drought matters, including the Arizona Lower Basin Drought Contingency Plan negotiations, development of the 500+ Plan and the current Supplemental Environmental Implementation Statement process. Jason is an enrolled member of the Gila River Indian Community.
