Harriet Turney has been the Chief Administrative Law Judge for the Industrial Commission of Arizona since 1998. She previously served as General Counsel and Chief Bar Counsel to the State Bar of Arizona (SBA), and Special Counsel to the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct. She recently completed a term on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Administrative Law Judges. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Joint Commission Evaluating the Model Code of Judicial Conduct, Chair of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility Membership Committee, and member of the Center for Professional Responsibility Coordinating Council. She is a past member of the ABA Standing Committee on Professionalism, the ABA Standing Committee on Client Protection, and the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance. Before relocating to Arizona in 1985, Turney practiced labor and employment law in Dayton, Ohio, served a two year judicial clerkship with the United States District Court in Southern Ohio, and taught at the University of Toledo College of Law. She received her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1979. She has her B.A. and M.A. from Kent State University.
