Gregory Bartolomei

Greg Bartolomei began his legal career as an attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Westchester County in New York from 1980-84 before entering private practice. He came to Arizona in 1988 and continued working primarily as a criminal defense attorney. He became a member of the CJA Panel in 1993 and was appointed by the Hon. Robert Broomsfield to serve as the CJA Panel Representative for the District of Arizona from 1999-2001. Greg served on the Committee that drafted the CJA Plan and has been the Chair of the CJA Panel Selection Committee (Phoenix-Yuma-Flagstaff) since the CJA Plan was approved by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2002. He is an attorney supervisor with the Office of the Federal Public Defender and presently serves on the Executive Council for the Public Lawyers Section of the State Bar, the U.S. District Court's Local Rules Committee, the U.S. District Court's CJA Guidelines Committee, and is Chair of the Maricopa County Criminal Defense Contract Review Committee. Greg is also a volunteer with Arizona Bullmastiff Rescue and has been a Volunteer Santa for homeless children and local pet rescue services.
