G Sonny Cave
Sonny Cave has been a member of the Arizona Bar since 1986. He recently retired after serving 22 years as the founding General Counsel of ON Semiconductor Corporation in Phoenix (“onsemi”, NASDAQ: ON, Fortune 500 and S&P 500). During his tenure at onsemi, Sonny also held other executive titles including Executive Vice President, Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer, Chief Risk Officer and Secretary to the Board of Directors. Sonny currently has an active Directorship Certification through the National Association of Corporate Directors. Previously, Sonny held the ex-patriate position of Contracts and Regulatory Affairs Director for Motorola's Semiconductor Components Group in Geneva Switzerland (1997-1999), and the position of Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Counsel at Motorola, Inc. in Phoenix (1992-1997). Sonny earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1985 and served thereafter as a judicial Law Clerk with the Arizona Court of Appeals. Sonny also worked for six years at two different, large regional law firms in Denver and Phoenix before joining Motorola's Law Department in 1992. Additionally, Sonny has a Master of Science degree in Botany/Plant Ecology from Arizona State University (1982) and a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude with distinction in Botany, from Duke University (1979).
