MICHAEL W. “MIKE” DUFFEY has had a long and active role in service to his country and community.  He is a nationally known expert and leader in animal cruelty laws and enforcement.  Mr. Duffey served in the U.S. Marine Corps (1967-1968), as Embassy Security (1969), as a detective with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (1973-2007), and as a member of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department SWAT Team (1974-2007).  He co-founded the Animal Cruelty Taskforce (ACT) of Southern Arizona in 1999.  He currently serves as co-chair of ACT, as an animal crimes investigator with the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (since 2007), and as co-chair of “the Humane link Arizona.”
