David L Sandweiss

Born and raised in Detroit, David graduated from the University of Michigan with an honors degree in Political Science, and then from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington. He clerked for Arizona Attorney General Bruce Babbitt and then Superior Court Judge Roger Strand before being admitted to the Arizona Bar in 1978. Through 1984 David worked for two small law firms and, in 1985, formed David L. Sandweiss, Ltd., where he was a sole practitioner until 2006. David handled civil litigation cases of all types but mainly bodily injury and health-related matters. Several of his appellate cases have resulted in published opinions. Over the years David has been admitted pro hac vice in Arkansas, California and Nevada courts, served on several County and State Bar Committees, presented at many State Bar, county bar, and university CLE programs, and been a member of the American Association for Justice and the Arizona Association for Justice. He enjoys an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is a Superior Court Judge Pro Tem in Maricopa County. In 2006, David joined the State Bar of Arizona where he since has handled lawyer professional responsibility cases. He currently chairs the State Bar’s in-house Diversity Committee and energetically captains the State Bar’s entry in the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and Half Marathon Get Fit Challenge, the “Bar Flys.”
