Cary Sandman has practiced law in Arizona for nearly 44 years. Mr. Sandman’s practice has encompassed both complex criminal and civil litigation. Currently, as a Federal Public Defender, Mr. Sandman currently represents death row prisoners in Arizona, California, Texas and Nevada in federal habeas and related post-conviction proceedings. In 2017, Mr. Sandman won the release of Ha’im Sharif, who had served 28 years on death row. Mr. Sandman is past-president of the Pima County Bar, past-chair of the State Bar CLE Committee, past-member of the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness and past 9th Circuit Representative for the District of Arizona.
