Bette B. Epstein is a partner in the Oakland, California office of Reed Smith, LLP, where her practice focuses on trust and estate litigation representing trustees, executors and beneficiaries. She also handles contested conservatorships, representing conservatees and conservators. Ms. Epstein is also a mediator in trust and estate matters and before entering law practice was a psychotherapist. Ms. Epstein is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, serves on the mediation panels for the San Francisco Probate Court, the Alameda County Probate Court and the California Court of Appeal (First District). She is the co-author of the CEB Action Guide “Capacity and Undue Influence: Assessing, Challenging and Defending.” She received her B.S. from the University of Southern California, her M.S. from California State University, Hayward, and her J.D. from the University of San Francisco.
