Judge (ret.) Bethany G. Hicks received her Bachelor’s Degree from Vassar College, her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development from Boston University and her Juris Doctorate from the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law at Arizona State University. From 1991 through 2015, she served as a judge on the Maricopa County Superior Court, including terms on the family, civil, probate, juvenile and criminal benches. In particular, Judge Hicks served as the presiding judge for the Family Court department from 2000 to 2003, as the Associate Dean (2005) and Dean (2006) of the Arizona Judicial College and as a judge pro tem on both the Arizona Court of Appeals (Division One) and the Arizona Supreme Court. Since leaving the bench, Judge Hicks has conducted a private mediation/arbitration practice and serves as a court-appointed parenting coordinator for parents who are unable to agree on parenting issues. She is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Maricopa County Bar Association, Arizona Women Neutrals and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
