Annette Burns has been a Family Law Specialist certified by the State Bar of Arizona since 1994 and has practiced law in Arizona since 1984.  She is currently a Board Member and Vice President of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), an international organization of family court, legal and mental health professionals. Ms. Burns has been a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) since 2001.    She served as a Judge pro tem in Maricopa County Superior Court from 1992-2005, and was a member of the Executive Council of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona from 1994-2007 and Chair of the Family Law Section in 2000-01.    She served on the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Procedure in Domestic Relations Cases for the duration of that Committee (July, 2003 through October, 2005), on the Supreme Court Family Law Rules Review Committee (2005-2007) and on the Family Law Practice and Procedure Committee of the State Bar of Arizona.  Annette is a co-author of the Arizona Family Law Rules Handbook for Thompson/ West publishers, updated annually.  She maintains an ADR and Parenting Coordinator practice, along with her representation of clients and frequently serves as mediator, Special Master, and arbitrator in family law matters.  (12/2015)
