Amanda Moncayo Parker
Maricopa County Attorney's Office
Judge Amanda Moncayo Parker was appointed to the Maricopa County Superior Court in May 2022. She currently serves as the Associate Presiding Family Department Judge. Prior to serving in the Family Department, Judge Parker served in the Juvenile Department, presiding over dependency and delinquency cases. While on the Juvenile Court rotation, Judge Parker was also one of two judicial officers who presided over STRENGTH court—a therapeutic court designed to meet the unique needs of sex-trafficked youth.
Prior to joining the bench, Judge Parker was the Bureau Chief of the Appeals and Post-Conviction Proceedings Bureau at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where she managed 17 attorneys over four practice areas and was responsible for reviewing appellate attorneys’ briefs. In a series of very odd coincidences, the first brief Judge Parker ever filed in the United States Supreme Court stemmed from a justice court case she had prosecuted at the North Mesa Justice Court, years prior.
Judge Parker received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. She had the honor of clerking for United States District Court Judge Michael T. Liburdi as one of his inaugural law clerks.
In her spare time, Judge Parker enjoys playing the piano (sometimes with the harmonica), attending her kids’ sporting events, and collecting mid century furniture.
