In the span of a year, Megan served as a law clerk in a federal district court, sat as a juror on a 3-week jury trial, and tried a case to an 8-person jury. In this presentation, Megan will share how seeing a trial from the juror's perspective has influenced her approach to trial practice. From understanding the subtle dynamics of jury deliberation to recognizing the impact of lawyer behavior in the courtroom, this presentation will offer valuable lessons for any attorney. Megan M Carrasco Related Seminars and Products
Megan Carrasco is an experienced litigator, helping protect innovations and resolve complex disputes in business, construction, and intellectual property. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, construction disputes, intellectual property and patent litigation, as well as investigations, government enforcement, and white-collar defense. From initial pleadings to motion practice and trial or arbitration, Megan is highly skilled in every phase of litigation.
She regularly helps clients navigate complex commercial disputes, including contract disputes and business torts. Megan also represents owners (including homeowners), contractors, and subcontractors in a wide array of construction-related disputes, such as defective workmanship, wrongful termination, change orders, mechanic’s liens, and breach of contract claims.
In addition to her commercial and construction work, Megan conducts internal investigations and represents companies and individuals facing federal and state criminal, civil, and regulatory enforcement actions. She also maintains an active intellectual property litigation practice, assisting clients in protecting their innovations in competitive markets.
Megan is actively involved in several legal organizations, including the State Bar of Arizona’s Council on Minorities and Women in the Law, the Committee on Access to Justice, the Arizona Women Lawyer’s Association, and the Federal Bar Association. She regularly authors publications and presentations, including as a contributor to the ABA’s Business Law Today and through client alerts that highlight trending legal issues.
As a graduate magna cum laude from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, Megan previously clerked for the Arizona Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. She also gained experience through externships with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Arizona Department of Gaming, and the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
