Description

This seminar will review significant cases from the Court’s completed term, provide a background of previous decisions, comment on individual justices’ perspectives, and preview petitions for certiorari for the upcoming term.

George T Anagnost Related Seminars and Products

Peoria Municipal Court


is presiding judge for the Peoria Municipal Court where has been presiding judge for several years. He has participated in various continuing education presentations and has been published in various law journals.


Alane V Breland Related Seminars and Products


is the Chief Prosecutor for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona. Ms. Breland received her B.A. cum laude from the University of Alabama, where she also obtained her Juris Doctor, receiving the Bench and Bar Outstanding Senior Award and the Dean Thomas W. Christopher Award. She serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the MISS Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides counseling and other services to families experiencing the death of a child.


Nicholas Klingerman Related Seminars and Products

Office of the Attorney General


serves as the Criminal Division Chief at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. In his capacity, he oversees prosecutors, law enforcement officers and staff; along with the Victims’ Rights Program. Prior to overseeing the Criminal Division, Nick was the Division Chief of the Training and Post Conviction Division at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where he oversaw the training program, appeals bureau, and limited jurisdiction courts. During his career, Nick has specialized in both appellate and complex economic fraud, illegal enterprise, and anti-racketeering cases. In recognition of his exceptional prosecutorial work, Klingerman was honored with the Felony Prosecutor of the Year award for large jurisdictions by the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys' Advisory Council (APAAC) in 2022. Nick received his JD from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of law in 2010, where he was the Case Notes Editor for the Arizona Law Review and graduated summa cum laude and Order of the Coif. Following law school, Nick clerked for the Honorable Maurice Portley in the Arizona Court of Appeals. Before moving to Phoenix, Nick was a part-time professor of practice at the University of Arizona College of Law, teaching sentencing law and supervising the Attorney General Prosecution Clinic.



Oren Tamir Related Seminars and Products


Oren Tamir is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where he writes and teaches about U.S. constitutional law and administrative law as well as on comparative public law. He joined the University of Arizona from Harvard Law School and NYU School of Law, where he was a Post-doctoral Fellow and an Adjunct Professor.?Prior to that, he graduated from Harvard Law School with an SJD and an LLM and served as an assistant attorney-general in the Office of Legal Counsel in the Israeli Department of Justice and a clerk for then Associate Justice (and more recently Chief Justice and now retired Chief Justice) Esther Hayut on the Israeli Supreme Court.
