1. Fiduciary Income Tax - So you have a foundational knowledge of Fiduciary Income Taxation.  Want to learn more?  
-    How is taxable income from a business handled under the fiduciary accounting income (FAI) and distributable net income (DNI) rules?  What about Phantom income?  
-    When and how do the separate share rules apply, and how are expenses allocated?  
-    How does all this get reported on a 1041?
-    What are some of the state tax nuances related to estates and trusts, including determining situs for state tax filing?”

2. Secure Act 1.0 and 2.0
-    Impact of the Secure Act on estate planning for retirement benefits, including proposed (hopefully final by March) regulations
-    Drafting for trusts receiving large retirement plans and choice of conduit v. accumulation v. non-qualifying trust
-    Building in flexibility and capitalizing on post-mortem opportunities to amend trusts
-    Secure 2.0 Act sections that affect planning for conduit trusts, AMBTs (special needs trusts) and QCD changes
-    Rise of the Roth – why Roths will only grow more after Secure 2.0 – how to draft and plan differently for them

T.J. served as the President of the Maricopa County Bar Association in 2015. T.J. is a native of Phoenix, Arizona who enjoys golf, Crossfit™, baseball, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
