Depending on the outcome of tax reform legislation currently being considered, this presentation addresses estate planning techniques and strategies that survived Congress’ modifications, assisting estate planning attorneys in “pivoting” in light of the statutory modifications. Alternatively, if Congress is unable to agree upon changes, or does not act, the presentation provides an overview of the strategies that were under attack (valuation discounts and grantor trusts) and why they are so popular.
What You’ll Learn:
1. How changes in tax law affect estate planning strategies
2. How interest rate changes impact and effect estate planning and client decision-making on strategies
3. How proposed regulations to retirement distribution provisions impact estate planning
