Join us for the Bar's very first 2-night Immersion/Retreat program in partnership with Canyon Ranch Tucson.  In-person only program is designed for legal professionals interested in longevity, self-care, and wellness information that can be applied to your professional practice and tailored specifically to the unique challenges faced in the legal profession.

Learn strategies for reducing stress, gain knowledge about the benefits of meditation and yoga, explore ways of building resilience, and discover how maintaining a healthy lifestyle can have a positive impact on your effectiveness as a legal professional.

Attain Career Success by Shaping your Environment to Avoid Ethical Pitfalls

Learn how external factors can influence the decision making process. Simple steps, like making important decisions in the morning rather than the evening, can help legal professionals practice more competently and ethically. Participants also learn how conditions like stress, anxiety, sleep deprivation, and substance use can lead to the flawed decision making that generates ethical and malpractice concerns.

Ann Ching is a Clinical Professor of Law at Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Prior to this appointment, Professor Ching served as Ethics Counsel for the State Bar of Arizona (2016-2019) and Assistant Professor of Law at Pepperdine University (2013-2015). Professor Ching began her legal career in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (2001-2012), where she achieved the rank of Major and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for her service in Iraq.

Outside of teaching, Professor Ching serves on the Arizona Supreme Court Ethics Advisory Committee, the State Bar of Arizona Ethics Advisory Group, and as a judge pro tempore for the East Valley Regional Veterans Court. Professor Ching is also Immediate Past President of the Arizona Asian American Bar Association.

Professor Ching is a graduate of the University of Arizona (B.A.), the University of North Carolina (J.D.), the Judge Advocate General’s School of the Army (LL.M.), and Pepperdine University (M.B.A.).

Honorable LuAnn Haley has been an Administrative Law Judge with the Industrial Commission of Arizona since 1999. Judge Haley graduated from college and law school in Pennsylvania and received her Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law in 1981. She practiced law in Pennsylvania from 1981 through 1998 before moving to Arizona in 1998. She continues to be admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and also has been licensed in Arizona since 1999. While practicing in Pennsylvania, she handled workers’ compensation cases for employers, carriers and self-insured employers. Judge Haley has been a frequent lecturer for continuing legal education seminars in both Arizona and Pennsylvania and also serves on the CLE committee for the State Bar of Arizona’s Workers’ Compensation Section. Judge Haley is a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers and serves on the Executive Committee for the organization. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Workers’ Compensation Judiciary and serves as is one of the editors for the NAWCJ’s monthly newsletter.


Brendan Murray Related Seminars and Products


Brendan Murray D.C., D.A.C.B.S.P., Director of Sports Medicine, works to get guests back to the physical activities they enjoy, in spite of injury or aging. He is an expert in diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. He also educates others on how to move better and use research to inform daily practice.
