Description

The practice of law is evolving rapidly. Changes in technology, firms (and other associations), and legal-service providers are sparking innovation and opportunities, in addition to uncertainty. Traditional approaches to the practice of law and ethical regulation cannot fully keep pace with these changes. This program, which will provide a year's worth of ethics credit, offers key insights on how to run and maintain a cutting-edge practice, ethically and effectively, in a changing profession.
  Attendees will learn:

  • New ethical rules and expectations impacting conflicts of interest, technology, new associations with other lawyers and non-lawyers (such as Legal Paraprofessionals and Alternative Business Structures), virtual practice, law office management, and attorney wellness;
  • How to use online/internet tools to market legal services and to target potential clients ethically;
  • How to work with the media and social media to market, advertise, and develop professional relationships without violating the ethical rules.

"They were all at least "Good". Some moments were "Excellent," More real life examples from the news, etc. would help."

Brett S

"Interesting material; good speakers"

Kaitlin S

"I just liked the presentation. I especially enjoyed the discussion on civility because I encounter many lawyers who do not care about civility and so this discussion is a good reminder of how lawyers should act."

Oscar F

Leah J

Robert J

"To satisfy Ethics requirements"
