Description

Course discusses why civility and professionalism are vitally important in today’s legal system, and their intersection with the Rules of Professional Conduct.  Faculty will use hypotheticals, some based on real-world examples, to examine the importance of civility and professionalism in lawyers’ relationships with clients, judges, other attorneys, and the general public.  Pertinent ethics rules and obligations will also be covered.

"The content is helpful. Good reminders of why the codes exist and why adherence is critical to professionalism. I gave Daniel and excellent rating - however his tone gets to be quite scolding. I appreciate the sentiment, but it gets hard to listen to after a while. "

"My notes, nearly 7 pages worth, are replete with repeated complaint about the same questions - I wish I knew more about "overlitigation," I wish there was more about dealing with porcupine pro se parties for whom there is no obligation to professionalism. Professionalism is as professionals do, but the presenter repeatedly complains we need to do better. More substance as to what professionalism looks like and less about what it doesn't look like would have been appreciated."
