Scott Ambrose is an trial attorney, having litigated hundreds of complex personal injury and commercial matters in State and Federal Court. His practice focuses primarily on Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Insurance Bad Faith, Civil Rights, and Wrongful Death matters. Scott has obtained multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. For thirty years his practice has emphasized the litigation and resolution of matters involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, toxic torts, civil rights, commercial litigation, and domestic relations. He has successfully completed over twenty jury and bench trials in courts throughout Arizona. Mr. Ambrose is Rated AV Preeminent with Martindale Hubbell. He is also identified as a Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in Arizona by the National Trial Lawyers Association and is recognized as a Certified Specialist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Ambrose has considerable experience handling personal injury matters for both plaintiffs and defendants, as well as successfully managing numerous complex, multi-party and multi-issue lawsuits to completion. Additionally, he has significant appellate experience having successfully briefed and/or argued cases to all Arizona Appellate Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Ambrose is a long-term Arizona resident. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University in 1986 and went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1989. He has a long tradition of serving his community and the State Bar of Arizona. Scott has served on the Arizona Rules Committee and has chaired the Membership Assistance Committee for the Arizona State Bar. When he is not helping his clients, Scott enjoys being outdoors with his family, writing fiction, and cooking.
John Wittwer is a Senior Member of The Cavanagh Law Firm in Phoenix, Arizona. He practices primarily in the areas of complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith, professional liability, and cybersecurity. Mr. Wittwer has successfully represented a wide range of clients from startups to Fortune 500 companies in matters involving complex business litigation, insurance coverage, professional liability, theft of trade secrets, breach of contract, fiduciary duty, bad faith, punitive damages, HIPAA breaches, employee restrictive covenants (including confidentiality, non-solicitation, and anti-piracy agreements), fraud, consumer fraud, cyber insurance, data breaches, and ransomware. Jill Chasson is a partner with Coppersmith Brockelman, a 21-lawyer firm located in central Phoenix. Her practice focuses on helping businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries with their employment law needs. She provides timely, practical advice to management and human resource professionals regarding personnel matters and compliance with the many federal and state laws that govern the workplace. When disputes can’t be avoided, Jill represents employers before administrative agencies, in arbitration proceedings, and in litigation in federal and state courts.
Jill earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her J.D. from Boston University School of Law. A collegiate and Olympic swimmer before embarking on her legal career, Jill brings both a natural competitiveness and a sense of sportsmanship to her law practice. Jill is also in her third year as the Chair of the firm’s Governance Committee, or “GovCom” as it’s known within the firm. She strives to lead the firm’s amazingly talented lawyers and staff with empathy, humility, and a sense of humor.
Jonathan Hauer, Administrative Law Judge, joined the Industrial Commission of Arizona in 2014 as an Administrative Law Judge. During his time in the workers' compensation community, Judge Hauer has been the Commission's Assistant Chief Counsel, a Vice Chief Administrative Law Judge, and counsel for injured workers. Before joining the Industrial Commission, Judge Hauer worked in the private sector, where he represented clients in employment-related litigation. Judge Hauer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and obtained his law degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.
Javier Puig has a background in child psychology and practiced in that field prior to attending law school in 2001. He is a 2004 graduate of UNLV Wm. S. Boyd School of Law with a visitorship at Arizona State University. After graduating from Law School Javier served as a prosecutor for the Maricopa County Attorney’s office in adult and juvenile court. He was then transferred to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office Civil Division where he handled Civil Mental Health commitments and worked with the newly developed special healthcare district. He was then hired by SCF AZ (now Copper Point Mutual) as in-house counsel. Javier then represented applicants until mid-2017. Javier obtained his Specialization in Workers Compensation Law in May 2013. When he’s not diligently covering workers’ compensation matters with his current defense firm Lundmark, Barberich, LaMont & Puig as their managing partner, you can find him playing with his Goldendoodle or hovering over the table of food at any social gathering.
