STACY L. SHUMAN is Staff Bar Counsel at the State Bar of Arizona. In addition to working in the Attorney/Consumer Assistance Program, which handles all incoming inquiries and consumer complaints about Arizona attorneys, Ms. Shuman investigates and prosecutes formal ethics complaints against attorneys, as needed. Ms. Shuman received a B.A. in 1987 from Saint Mary’s College and a J.D. in 1990 from Indiana University at Bloomington. After law school, Ms. Shuman joined an AV-rated, commercial firm in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1998, Ms. Shuman relocated to Phoenix and later joined the Child and Family Protection Division of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, where she remained for eleven years before joining the State Bar in 2011.


Nancy A Greenlee Related Seminars and Products


Nancy A. Greenlee, sole practitioner, specializes in representing lawyers in disciplinary proceedings. From 1990 to 1996, she served as a State Bar of Arizona staff bar counsel responsible for investigation and prosecution of matters involving violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Nancy was a member of the State Bar of Arizona Ethics Committee from 2007 to 2016. She is the chair of the State Bar of Arizona Ethics Advisory Group. She is a former lawyer member of the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct and a former Board member of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Maricopa County Bar Association. Nancy graduated, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1986, and worked in private practice, handling primarily plaintiff’s personal injury cases and general litigation matters including some dissolution cases. Nancy frequently serves as a panel member for CLE seminars dealing with professional conduct and ethics. She can be reached at (602) 264-8110 or nancy@nancygreenlee.com.

is Senior Bar Counsel in the State Bar of Arizona's Lawyer Regulation Division and a Judge Pro Tempore for the Maricopa County Superior Court. Steve has prosecuted numerous Lawyer Regulation cases over the years, in addition to presenting substantive CLEs on legal ethics and professional responsibility. Steve also runs and oversees the State Bar's Law Office Management Assistance Program, which offers in-person law office management assistance to lawyers in need. Steve has previously worked as Assistant Ethics Counsel for the State Bar, as a prosecutor for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in the Major Crimes Division, and has run his own legal practice, representing personal injury clients and defending lawyers from ethics and malpractice complaints.

Intake Bar Counsel

Matt McGregor is Bar Counsel with the State Bar of Arizona’s Intake department. Born and raised in the far suburbs of Chicago, IL., his first legal job was with the Maricopa County Attorney’s office, where he worked from 2002 – 2007. Matt worked in the Preliminary Hearing, Juvenile, and Family Violence Bureaus. Matt then moved over to the State Bar of Arizona’s Lawyer Regulation department in 2007, where he worked as a Litigation Bar Counsel, and then transitioned into a part of the Intake department. In 2011, Matt returned to the County Attorney’s office, where he worked in Charging / Grand Jury, Family Violence, Gangs, and as a Mentor for newer attorneys in the Preliminary Hearing bureau. Matt then returned to the State Bar’s Intake department in February 2016, and he also assists in conducting in-person law office assessments for the State Bar’s Law Office Management Assistance Program. Matt regularly teaches as part of the State Bar of Arizona’s Professionalism Course and other CLEs.
