Susan Salmon

Susie Salmon is Assistant Director of Legal Writing and Associate Clinical Professor of Law at The University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law. After graduating from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Professor Salmon spent nine years as a commercial litigator, first at O'Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles and then at Quarles & Brady in Tucson. After joining the College of Law full time in 2010, Professor Salmon continued to practice pro bono, handling immigration appeals for the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project and volunteering for the Office of the Pima County Public Defender. She also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of The Humane Society of Southern Arizona. She co-authored The Moot Court Advisor's Handbook, published by Carolina Academic Press in 2015, and she pens a monthly legal-writing column, "The Legal Word," for Arizona Attorney magazine. Professor Salmon holds leadership positions with national legal-writing organizations, and she frequently speaks and writes on writing-related topics.
