Renae Welder is a Senior Manager in Deloitte & Touche’s Multistate Tax Services practice, specializing in multistate tax consulting and planning. She has extensive state tax planning and controversy experience in income and franchise tax and sales and use tax. She consults with clients regarding entity structuring for multistate expansion; appropriate state tax filing positions; the use of special purpose entities; and the incorporation of pass through and hybrid entities. She also has due diligence experience and regularly consults with clients regarding the state tax implications of corporate mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. Renae regularly represents clients in controversies with the California Franchise Tax Board, the California State Board of Equalization and the Arizona Department of Revenue. Renae received her B.S.B. in Management and Finance from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School. Renae is a licensed attorney and member of the Minnesota State Bar and American Bar Association Business Law and Tax Law Sections. She has also served on the Arizona Chamber of Commerce Tax Committee.
