Honorable Laurie B. San Angelo is a Superior Court Judge currently assigned to the Juvenile Division after being appointed by Governor Ducey in 2020.  Previously, she was a Court Commissioner/Judge Pro Tempore and served in the Family Law Division, IV-D Child Support, and the Juvenile Division. Prior to being appointed to the bench, Laurie was South Unit Chief Counsel for the Protective Services Section of the Attorney General’s Office in Tucson, Arizona, from 2007 until January 2013. She worked in the area of Child Welfare representing the Arizona Department of Economic Security/Child Protective Services for over 28 years. She has served on various committees and workgroups at the Pima County Juvenile Court, including as Co-Chair of the Severance and Calendar committee, Co-Chair of the Family Law committee, Co-Chair of the Methamphetamine Abuse committee and as a regular participant of the Model Court Working Committee. She was on the Board of Directors for the Pima County Bar Association from 2005-2014 and has served as Chair of the Membership Committee, Secretary for the Board and President. She is currently on the Writ Committee. She has served on committees with the National Counsel of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and from the University of Arizona College of Law.
