Colleen E O'Donnell-Smith

HONORABLE COLLEEN O'DONNELL-SMITH was appointed as a Superior Court Judge in April 2023. Before her appointment to the bench, Judge O’Donnell-Smith practiced law in Arizona for 26 years. She is a former Assistant Attorney General. She represented the Department of Child Safety for over 20 years at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. She served in the role of trial attorney, Senior Litigation Counsel, Assistant Division Chief, and Unit Chief Counsel. In her final years at the AGO, she represented both DCS and the Department of Economic Security in her role as Unit Chief Counsel on a wide range of civil matters. She has been a juvenile law adjunct professor at the Sandra Day O’Conner College of Law for several years. Judge O’Donnell-Smith received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona in 1994. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona in 1997.
