Bonnie Brier

Bonnie S. Brier is General Counsel of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she advises the hospital’s board of directors on corporate governance issues. The Children’s Hospital is the oldest and largest pediatric hospital in the country, with the largest pediatric outpatient network (in 3 states) in the country, the largest pediatric training program in the country and the second largest pediatric research enterprise in the country. Before joining the Children’s Hospital, she was a partner in the Philadelphia office of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Brier is a widely recognized authority on corporate governance issues in non-profit associations and is the immediate past Chair of the Health Law Section of the ABA. She previously served as the Chair of the Exempt Organizations Committee of the Tax Section of the ABA. Also, she was a member of the board of directors of the American Health Lawyer’s Association and Chair of its Academic Medical Center Program. Ms. Brier is a graduate of Cornell University, where she received her A.B., and Stanford University, where she received her J.D.
