Anita Soucy

Anita Soucy is an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Tax Policy of the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Washington, D.C. Ms. Soucy has principal responsibility for the Office of the Tax Legislative Counsel in the area of tax administration and procedure, including regulations under Circular 230. Prior to joining the Department of the Treasury, Ms. Soucy was practiced law with Latham & Watkins LLP in Washington, DC, concentrating in the areas of tax controversy and litigation. In private practice, Ms. Soucy represented large corporate taxpayers involved in complex federal tax matters, including IRS audits, administrative protests, litigation, and compliance with tax shelter provisions. Ms. Soucy serves as an adjunct professor of law in the Georgetown University Law Center Graduate Tax Program (Tax Practice and Procedure (Litigation)). She is an active member of the Administrative Practice and Court Practice and Procedure Committees of the ABA Section of Taxation. Ms. Soucy received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts and her J.D. cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law.
