Description
The Arizona Supreme Court has recently revised the Spousal Maintenance Guidelines, introducing key changes that affect how support awards are calculated and applied. This program will walk through what’s new, why the changes were made, and how they impact both practitioners and clients.
Our experienced faculty will explain the reasoning behind the revisions, discuss practical implications for settlement negotiations and court proceedings, and provide guidance on applying the updated formulas and factors in real-world examples.

Pima County Superior Court
Honorable Greg Sakall is a Pima County Superior Court Judge. He is currently that court’s Associate Presiding Judge and on the Civil bench. Previously, he was assigned to the family bench and served as that bench’s presiding judge. He also serves as the Chair of the Committee on Family Court, and chaired the Spousal Maintenance Guideline Review Subcommittee. In 2023, he was selected as Judge of the Year by the Arizona Supreme Court. After law school, Judge Sakall clerked for U.S. District Judges William D. Browning and Cindy K. Jorgenson, and afterwards was in private practice. He has also been an adjunct associate professor and is a guest lecturer at the James E. Rogers College of Law.

Laura Belleau is the owner of Belleau Family Law Group, limiting her practice to family law cases, concentrating on those involving complex financial and children's issues. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and currently serves as the National Past-President, having served as the National President in 2024/25. She is a past President of Arizona's Chapter of AAML and has previously served as the both the National and Arizona Chapter Treasurer. She is a Diplomate in the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, a select group of the top 100 family trial lawyers from across the country known for excellence in family law trial practice. She is certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State of Arizona's Board of Legal Specialization. She serves on the State Bar's Family Law Executive Council, served on both the Supreme Court's Child Support Guidelines Review Committee and Spousal Maintenance Guidelines Committee, and currently serves on the Supreme Court’s Parenting Time Guide Workgroup. She is a current member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and a past-president of Arizona's chapter. She is a Judge Pro Tempore for the Arizona Superior Court, Pima County, volunteers as child’s counsel/court appointed advisor in complex parenting time cases and frequently speaks and writes on family law topics.

David Horowitz specializes in family law and domestic relations matters, including divorce, paternity, child custody, legal decision making, parenting time, child support, mediation and arbitration.
He has significant experience in all child-related issues, including step-parent adoption, grandparents’ rights, parenting coordination, same-sex parenting, and guardianship/conservatorship. His practice also offers guidance with prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements, complex divorce (including business valuation and complex custody and child support issues), collaborative divorce, mediation, arbitration, and court-appointed special master services.
David is also a respected mediator in family law disputes and serves as a judge pro tem for the Maricopa County Superior Court. He is a Certified Family Law Specialist (Arizona Board of Legal Specialization) and a Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers honoree. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, served on the Academy’s board of governors, and chairs its Mediation Committee. He is the current chair of the State Bar of Arizona’s Board of Legal Specialization Family Law Advisory Commission. David is a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and serves on the USA Chapter Board of Managers.
David teaches Family Law and Legal Studies at Phoenix College and has been an adjunct faculty member at the Phoenix School of Law and Arizona Summit Law School.
He has been practicing in Arizona for over 35 years. He received his B.S.B.A. in Business Economics(Honors and Highest Distinction)(1987) from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management and his J.D. (Summa Cum Laude)(1990) from the University of Arizona College of Law.

Andi C. Lawrence is a Scottsdale-based divorce attorney with over 25 years of experience providing divorce counsel to her clients.
She particularly enjoys educating her clients about the divorce process so that they feel empowered to make the decisions that are best for them. Andi enjoys using her legal acumen and extensive experience to craft creative solutions for her clients.

Steven Wolfson's practice focuses on all areas of family law, including legal decision-making and parenting-time disputes, business valuations, spousal maintenance and high-income child support determinations and pre and post-nuptial agreements.
Mr. Wolfson has been certified as a specialist in family law by the State Bar of Arizona Board of Legal Specialization since 2008. He is AV-rated as a preeminent attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Wolfson was selected to be included in the Best Lawyers in America in the area of family law for 2010 through 2025. He has been selected for listing in Super Lawyers every year since 2007.
