An Insider’s Guide to the Ninth Circuit

Please join the Appellate Practice Section for a special program about the Ninth Circuit.  Susan Gelmis, Chief Deputy Clerk for Operations at the Ninth Circuit, will present an insider’s guide to court operations. In addition to providing updates on reopening and in-person hearings and events, she will give detailed information about the court’s caseload and how cases make their way through the court on various tracks, how the calendaring process works, and how cases are assigned. She will also address recent changes to rules and staffing responsibilities, identify available resources for practitioners, and discuss the ongoing rollout of the new appellate case management system.
