The first segment of this seminar explains the current status of the Privacy Shield networks. In 2020, European justices and the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner of Switzerland declared that the U.S.-EU and U.S.-Swiss Privacy Shield networks do not provide an adequate level of protection for data transfers. Now, U.S. and EU officials are negotiating to bring the United States into adequacy.
