A medical practitioner’s perspective on medical and neuro evaluations in estate planning, including to what a medical professional can attest; when might it be a good idea to request an evaluation for estate planning; medical evaluation in GCs, including best practices, when to engage an expert, and what evidence they can provide; and use of cognitive evaluations in other litigation – undue influence, vulnerable adult exploitation, etc.

Dr. Kevin O’Brien, Arizona Neuropsychology, P.C.

Kevin O'Brien
Ph.D., ABPP-Cn -is a licensed psychologist in Arizona and one of the founding members of Arizona Neuropsychology, P.C. He is a board-certified, clinical neuropsychologist specializing in the neurocognitive and emotional assessment of clients with brain injury, neurological disorders, dementia, neurovascular disease, and psychological and medical conditions that may affect brain function. He provides evaluations for clients in clinical settings, as well as for those involved in the medical legal system. Dr. O'Brien received his doctorate in clinical neuropsychology from the University of Victoria in British Columbia. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation at the Barrow Neurological Institute and St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, and later worked in the outpatient brain-injury rehabilitation and inpatient neurorehabilitation programs. Dr. O'Brien has been in private practice since 2000 under the auspices of Arizona Neuropsychology, P.C.
