How To Set Up Pleading Templates in Arizona
Original Program Date :
How To Set Up Arizona Pleading Templates in Microsoft Word: Ariz. R. Civ. P. 5.2 lays out formatting requirements for pleadings that are frankly difficult to implement in a Microsoft Word document (or any word processor, for that matter). Setting up the left margin line numbers is complicated, and getting the text of your pleading to line up with those numbers is even more difficult. The formatting requirements present other challenges regarding margins, font, point size, and the maximum number of lines per page. In this class, you will be provided with a perfectly constructed Arizona pleading template in Microsoft Word. You will then learn how to customize it for your purposes (easily switch fonts, point sizes, paragraph alignment, etc.). This discussion necessarily involves an explanation of Word’s “styles” feature which is Word’s most powerful and simultaneously perplexing function. However, understanding styles better will allow you to more easily control the formatting in any Word document (not just a pleading template). If you find drafting pleadings in Word to be frustrating, then this is your class!
