Registrar of Contractors: Residential Contractors’ Recovery Fund Claims, and No Pay Complaints
Original Program Date :

The Registrar of Contractors is charged with administering and enforcing the laws governing the licensure and regulation of the conduct of licensed contractors. It also administers the Residential Contractors’ Recovery Fund. For residential contractors, if a citation results in discipline of the license, a homeowner may file a claim for payment from the Residential Contractors’ Recovery Fund.  No pay complaints, the failure to pay for materials or services rendered in connection with the contractor’s operations, is a common basis for discipline of residential and commercial contractors alike.

This seminar will provide an overview and update of information for attorneys representing contractors in the adjudication of no pay complaints, and Residential Contractors’ Recovery Fund claims from the filing of the complaint or claim through the hearing.  Judge Geddes will provide a view from the bench on the effective presentation of no pay complaints and recovery fund claims.

Speakers:
Robert Stirling, Assistant General Counsel, Registrar of Contractors
Hon. Roger Geddes, Administrative Law Judge Pro Tempore
